HIRST’S STATUE TO GO AHEAD!

We say congratulations to Ilfracombe and thank you Damien Hirst!!! His bronze 67 foot statue known as Verity will be installed at Ilfracombe pier on the 17th and 18th October 2012. The statue depicts a pregnant women with sword aloft standing on a set of law books. In true Damien Hirst style one side of the figure depicts skin peeled away to reveal the anatomy underneath, including her unborn child. Love it or hate it….this could be a life changing landmark to put Ilfracombe on the national arts trail??
