Getting to Ocean Backpackers
By Train
Trains connect from across the country to Exeter, then take the train to Barnstaple and the number 21 bus from the station to the Hostel.
Direct train from London Paddington – Tiverton Parkway every hour and the journey time is under 2 hours. A pre-booked taxi from Tiverton will cost between £70 and £100 (journey time 50 mins depending on traffic) so probably more suitable for groups of 2 to 4 people looking for a quick weekend getaway.
By Coach
National Express coaches from London Victoria, Heathrow, Birmingham and Taunton, terminate in Barnstaple. Then you can take the bus (number 21) that runs twice an hour and stops a few metres from the Hostel door. The Megabus also takes you to Barnstaple train station.

By car from Motorway
Exit the M5 at Junction 27 for Barnstaple and then follow signs for Ilfracombe. It’s about a one-hour drive.
Parking
We do not offer parking but there are many public, pay and display car parks in and around Ilfracombe including one directly behind the Hostel named Ropery Road.
