At Ocean Backpackers we are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of our guests and keeping personal information sage in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018.

The personal information that you have disclosed at the time of booking (either through a booking agent such as booking.com, Hostel World) or through our website or over the telephone, is stored on our hostel Office System. The date includes some or all of the following:

Name, address, telephone number, email address and nationality.

We are required by law ti ask for a passport number upon arrival if the guest comes for a commonwealth country.

This data can only be accessed by ourselves (the owners) and by our reception staff. We make sure that access is to card data is restricted only to staff that really need it. The two computers that store the Hostel data have anti-virus software installed that is updated on a regular basis to prevent fraud rom occurring. The computers are kept secure at all times and are locked away when not in use.

We never use an ordinary email to send credit card information to guests and we never ask guests to send card details via email when paying for their stay. A secure BACS transfer is requested instead.

Access to any handwritten card holder data that may have been given over the phone at the time of booking is held in a locked location and is destroyed immediately after the guests stay has taken place.

Any marketing campaigns we may run we will first ask your consent and data will not be disclosed to any third party in accordance with this privacy policy.
